BACKGROUND
Carl Barry performs with his own band and with his wife, vocalist Joanne Barry. He has also performed with the following recording artists: Chuck Wayne; Jack Wilkins; Vic Juris; Don Freidman; Chris Woods; Hal Galper; Ray Nantz; Bud Johnson; Steve LaSpina; Marty Napoleon; Helen Humes; Carrie Smith; Mimi Hines; Miss America Suzette Charles; and Project Hope with Ethel Merman and Julie Styne. He was a featured guest artist at the RCA/Victor Tribute to Les Paul, and performed with Zoot Sims and Hank Jones. He was a consultant to D'Angelico String Company for ten years and was also a consultant to the R. Cocco String Company, involved with the research and development of the string line. In addition, he endorses the Richard DiCarlo nylon-string jazz guitar.
In addition to being a jazz guitarist, Carl Barry is a composer, arranger, and producer. He has also written articles for Just Jazz Guitar. He resides in Brooklyn, New York, where he teaches private guitar lessons.
